How I Grew from 0 to 24,000 LinkedIn Followers (Without Burning Out or Selling My Soul)
Full playbook you can replicate now.
I’m 10pm at night. Full Stack Capitlist, Ex-Cisco. Storyteller. Capital raiser. Dad of two.
And this is the exact playbook I used to go from 0 to 24,000 followers on LinkedIn.
🕰️ It took me 8 years to reach 15,000
🚀 Then just 2 years to jump to 24,000
🤖 Thanks to AI — but not the way you think
Let me explain.
I didn’t outsource my voice to AI.
I collaborated with it.
There’s a difference.
Some posts? 100% me.
Others? Co-written with AI.
Some? Fully AI-generated but heavily edited to sound like me.
In other words:
AI became my co-pilot, not my ghostwriter.
My LinkedIn Growth Operating System
I used to write like this 👇
Sit down → stare at screen → try to be clever → overthink → delete → doom scroll.
Now I write like this:
AI x My Brain = Repeatable, Sharable, Value-Packed Content
Here’s the thinking model behind every post I create:
⚙️ My 3-Part Framework to Go Viral on LinkedIn
1. Think Like a Human
Before I touch a keyboard, I ask:
What’s annoying me right now?
What’s one thing I’ve learned this week that made me say "aha"?
What dumb advice is going viral that needs to be called out?
These are emotional open loops your audience already feels.
Hook them by solving a pain they didn’t know had a name.
Prompt to steal:
"What’s something I believe that most LinkedIn creators would disagree with?"
2. Write Like a Machine
Once I have the idea, I plug it into my AI assistant like this:
Prompt I use inside ChatGPT or Claude:
“Write a LinkedIn post that explains why [insert idea] in the style of Shaan Puri. Use short, punchy sentences. Include a contrarian hook. End with a takeaway that sounds like it came from a founder, not a coach.”
Then I edit it with my voice. Rewrite the ending. Add a metaphor. Drop a personal story. Clean the fluff.
AI gives me clay.
I mold the statue.
3. Publish Like a Pro
I batch ideas in Hoook.io. I schedule with Taplio.
But here’s the secret sauce:
I write posts in 15-minute sprints
I comment on 10 high-engagement posts/day (using AI-written comment drafts)
I send DMs to people who like my content, just saying: “Thanks for the like. Curious what resonated with you?”
The result?
More reach, more feedback, more relationships.
The AI Prompts That Changed My Content Game
Here’s a swipe file of real prompts I’ve used:
🧠 For generating post ideas:
"List 10 viral LinkedIn post ideas about growth, fundraising, or working in tech—written from the POV of a dad who’s also a founder."
✍️ For writing drafts:
“Write a Shaan Puri-style LinkedIn post on why AI is not a threat to creativity, but a multiplier. Add a contrarian take and a personal story.”
🪚 For cutting fluff:
“Edit this LinkedIn post to be punchier. Remove 30% of the words. Make each sentence stand on its own like a tweet.”
💬 For comment farming:
“Give me a one-liner LinkedIn comment in the tone of Alex Hormozi that disagrees with [insert post]. Must be smart, not trollish.”
🧬 Why This Works (Psychology of Posts That Pop)
People don’t want “thought leadership.”
They want:
Permission to believe what they already feel
Proof that someone’s in the arena
A shortcut to action
So I give them:
📈 A result I got
🤖 A tool I used
🧠 A decision I made
Sometimes all in one post.
🚨 Don't Make This Mistake
Most people use AI to write “meh” content faster.
That’s like giving a chainsaw to a toddler.
Instead, use AI to:
Sharpen your point of view
Pull out stories you forgot
Beat the blank page blues
Scale without sounding robotic
Final Take
Before AI, only elite creators could win.
They had ghostwriters. Editors. Time.
Now?
If you can think clearly and collaborate with the machine…
you win.
It’s no longer about “being a great writer.”
It’s about becoming a clear thinker with a system.
I’m pro-AI content.
Pro-AI comments.
Anti-bullsh*t.
Because at the end of the day:
People don’t care what tools you used.
They care if you said something worth reading.
